MeTRH ICU was constructed in 2020, comprising of 6 beds ICU and 3 bed HDU being part of the MEDs Program, the unit is fully equipped with state of art equipment’s by Phillips Company.

Currently the unit has 17 critical care nurses, 1 intensivist and 3 medical doctors.

The unit was officially commissioned by His Excellency the Governor, Kiraitu Murungi September 2020, our 1^st client was admitted on 13^th October 2020.

Since then, 16 patients in need of ICU care have been admitted,

Lastly, in line with the county vision to bring quality care closer to its people, the unit has tremendously reduced number of referral cases to KNH and other ICU facilities.  It also serves its neighboring counties being the only public ICU in upper eastern Region.
